The link between stress and negative emotions is real. Negative emotions are toxic to the body and recognized as a leading cause of illness. Stressful situations happen. We cannot avoid all stress. What we can do, is learn to deal with it in more healthy ways. Yelling, screaming, arguing and fighting does not help. You may feel like you are "letting off steam", but if you are directing all of this at others, you are hurting them. You also hurt yourself.
There are alternatives. Practice new responses to difficult situations. If you continue to respond and react in the same old ways, nothing will change. Like learning to ride a bicycle, you may "fall off" several times before the practice kicks in. Keep at it. It's worth it.
