Grief/Bereavement Support

Session Protocol

I work with both adults and children for Grief/Bereavement Support.  With an extensive background in nursing, volunteer work at Family Grief Camps and also helping those who have lost a beloved pet, I am honored to walk with you on your healing journey.

The death of a pet is incredibly hard.  I am so grateful for the love of my two retrievers, Maggie and Daisy and our cat Audrey.  They enrich my life immeasurably.  I carry the love of all my pets, who have journeyed on, across the Rainbow Bridge.  Some lived very long lives.  Some, like my beloved English Retriever Hope and sweet "Grand Doggy" Paisley - battled difficult illness.  All have taught me how deep love can truly go.  How love lasts and goes on to shape our lives and others.  Where there has been great love, often comes intense grief.  We miss these sweet souls who have been by our side, through it all.

For more information on our services, please do not hesitate to contact our office.

Prior to your first scheduled session, you will be sent our Confidential Intake Questionnaire. We ask you to fill it out and email it back to us before your first session.

To ensure optimal success and outstanding results, we take a holistic approach to helping all clients and ask you to be prepared to implement basic, yet important healthy changes in your lifestyle to achieve your goals. You will receive additional resources about sleep habits, nutrition and exercise, all in an effort to build a solid foundation which will support your wellness journey.

Please Plan Ahead On The Day Of Your Appointment

1. Allow extra drive time in case there is road construction or other delays and try to arrive a few minutes early so you can begin your appointment in a relaxed, rather than rushed state of mind.

2. Clients who arrive 15 minutes after their scheduled appointment time will need to reschedule and pay a $50 rescheduling fee. While we will do the best we possibly can, accommodating late arriving clients unfortunately causes clients scheduled after you to be late.

After your session, for additional support and guidance, we will email you positive affirmations and resource articles at your request.

Ms. Cook received her Grief/Bereavement training through the Center for Loss and Trauma in partnership with the MISS Foundation and the Elisabeth Kubler-Ross Family Trust.  We adhere to the ATTEND Model - a mindful and evidence-based, culturally sensitive paradigm for compassionate care to the traumatically bereaved which does not pathologize grief (Thielman & Cacciatore, 2013).  This model has been shown to reduce depressive, anxious and trauma symptomatology in both clients and clinicians.
